SALT LICK EVENING OF JAZZ TICKETS ENVELOPES DUE THIS FRIDAY JANUARY 22ND!

All MS and HS Band Students should have received a brown envelope containing 5 dinner tickets (7th-12th grade) and 8 raffle tickets (all grades) for the Evening of Jazz at the Salt Lick fundraiser, coming up on Thursday February 4th.  Please return all envelopes with all payments, any unused tickets and reserved table and/or additional ticket requests on the form provided to the Band office by this Friday January 22nd.  Reserved tables are still available in prime positions close to the Jazz bands.  There is a reservation fee of $50 in addition to the 10 dinner tickets per reserved table (total $300). PLEASE NOTE TIGER 5K CHANGE OF DATE.

Please note the change of date for the Tiger 5K this year from that published on the original band calendar sent out in the summer.  The race is one week earlier than originally scheduled.  It will now be on Saturday April 10th 2010.  This change of date is due to Founders Weekend being moved one week earlier than in previous years.  This also means that the Founders Day Parade, in which the band participates, will be on Friday April 9th 2010 (a DSISD Bad Weather Make Up day).  Please adjust your calendars accordingly.

TIGER 5K RUN/WALK - SATURDAY APRIL 10TH 2010

SPONSOR OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE!

We are currently seeking sponsors for our 10th annual and final Tiger 5K Run on April 10th 2010. Click here for the letter requesting sponsors. There are various levels of sponsorship ranging from Friends of the Band ($100) to Tiger Community Sponsors ($1000). Click here for full sponsorship details. Each sponsor will receive a specific amount of publicity depending on the sponsorship level. The event is always well attended with close to 275 runners from the Austin area and publicity is also available to the many Founder's Day weekend visitors and large area running community. All sponsors get their name on the race T-shirt. This is a great event to publicize your business or support for the DS Band Programs as a family. This will be the final time we put on this fundraiser and so the last chance to be a part of this fun, family and community event.

If you know of a business that may be interested in becoming a Tiger 5K sponsor or you would like to sponsor the event as a family please download the sponsor letter and sponsorship level flyer, complete the information requested and mail it to DS Band Boosters, PO Box 244, Dripping Springs, Texas 78620, along with your check made out to "DS Band Boosters". SALT LICK EVENING OF JAZZ - THURSDAY FEBRUARY 4TH 2010

SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS REQUEST!

As we have wrapped up marching season and are moving into the holidays, we start preparing for our major fundraisers in the new year. Our first fundraiser is our ever popular "Evening of Jazz at the Salt Lick" on Thursday February 4th 2010. We are currently soliciting donations for our Silent Auction, which has become a major part of this event. If you know of a business that may be willing to donate an item for our auction, we would be most grateful if you could contact them at this time and enquire about a donation.

The following are some documents that may help you when soliciting a donation.  Click on the document description for details.  The first is for tips and guidelines for requesting donations from area businesses. The second is the official letter requesting a donation from businesses who have not donated in the past with all the information that they may require. Please feel free to download and complete this letter with the appropriate information for your use. The third is an official donation receipt as DS Band Boosters is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization and hence all donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law. It is really helpful to us if you can fill out this donation receipt and give it to the donor when you pick up the item. The final file is the donation form which outlines the information that you will need to collect regarding any donation you may obtain.
