Band Booster On-line Garage Sale

Dollars Raised as of 10/15/07: $1,100

How It Works

The Band Booster on-line Garage Sale will run throughout the fall of 2007.  We operate our on-line sale using the services of both craigslist-Austin and MissionFish.

How Funds Will Be Used

All of the proceeds from our on-line sale will be set aside for the purchase of an additional trailer for our band program.    The current band trailers are routinely used by both the High School and Middle School to transport instruments and equipment to football games, marching & colorguard competitions, and UIL events.  The District and the band program are growing at such a rate that we are projecting another trailer will be needed by fall 2009, if not sooner!  Due to the cost involved in obtaining and customizing a trailer, it’s important to begin saving now for one.

Items We Need

For our sale we are seeking donations of gently used or nearly new items with an estimated market value of $30 or more.  Possibilities include:

Don’t worry about size since we can designate large items “for local pickup only”.

How To Donate

If you have an item to donate to our on-line sale, simply complete the Listing Form and email it to ellencarter@austin.rr.com

Once we have been notified that you have a donation, you will be contacted and arrangements made to obtain pictures (if needed) and to pick-up the item.  The Band Boosters will take care of listing and selling the item for you, as well as shipping it.  Since our storage space is limited, we may ask you to hang onto larger items and serve as the pickup point for the Buyer.

If you do not have email or have questions about the form or the process, please contact Ellen Carter at 512-858-0826.  Since the Band Booster organization is a registered non-profit, all items donated to our sale are tax-deductible and each donor will be provided with a tax receipt.

If you routinely sell items on eBay and would like to donate a percentage of your sales to the Dripping Springs band programs, it’s easy to do through the eBay Giving Works program.  You can give as little as 10% or as much as 100% on anything you sell ($5 minimum donation required).   Additionally, eBay will credit back a percentage of your insertion and final value fees equal to the percentage you are donating, and you will receive a tax receipt for your donation.   For more information on how this program works visit:  http://missionfish.org/ForSellers/forsellers.jsp
