The Band Boosters conduct a number of fundraisers throughout the school year, the proceeds of which are used to provide additional financial support to band/guard program budgets at the high school and middle school. In recent years, Booster fundraising efforts have been used to acquire marching show music and drill; contracted instructors to provide support with private lessons, sectionals, marching skills and choreography; the Middle School Smart Music instructional program; portable band risers; color guard flooring; and band instruments. The support of parents and the community are crucial to the success of these fundraisers, and there are many ways in which you can help. Please click on any of the fundraising program descriptions below for more information about the event and the specific needs for each one. This year, please commit to getting involved in one or more of these initiatives which are so critical to maintaining and strengthening our band programs!
Purchasing HEB/Central Market Gift cards each month is an easy way for you, your family, and friends to support the band/guard without spending any additional out-of-pocket money. You simply purchase gift cards at their face value ($20, $50 and $100 increments) and HEB donates a percentage of the card value to the Dripping Springs Band Boosters (DSBB). Gift cards can be used on all food, gas, pharmacy, cafeteria, photo purchases -- anything you usually write a check for at HEB or Central Market! The Boosters sell HEB Cards through Neighborhood Contacts and by Mail-Order. Additionally, cards are available at many band events. To learn more about this program, including how to purchase cards, please see the attached document (link to HEB Card flyer with Neighborhood which is attached below). If you have questions about the HEB Card program, contact Gwyn Thrower or Vicki Sherrill.

Corporate Payroll Deductions and Matching Gift Programs
Many Austin-area companies offer payroll deduction programs for charitable contributions.
Some will also match employee (or spouse/family) contributions, whether in the form of dollars given or volunteer hours donated.
Although specific guidelines for donations vary between companies, we encourage all band parents, relatives, and friends to investigate and use employer payroll deduction and/or matching gift programs for the benefit of the Dripping Springs band programs.
The Band Booster organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. If you need more specific information from us in order to assist a company in adding us to their payroll deduction program, annual giving program, or matching gift program, please contact Norma Dale.
The Band Boosters actively participate in operating the food/drink concessions at all Varsity and Junior Varsity home football games and in return receive a portion of the proceeds from concession sales. Volunteers are needed at each home game to staff and sell food at the concessions. The football game schedule is at the following link:

If you can assist in working the concessions at any of the home games, please contact David or Mechelle Kutach . Of course, purchasing items from the concessions is also a great way for you and your family/friends to support the band program!
This is new fundraising initiative for 2007, the proceeds of which will be used to purchase an additional trailer for the Marching Band. The District and the Band are growing at such a rate that another trailer will be needed soon! If you are familiar with eBay, then you have a pretty good idea of how this sale will work. For our sale we are seeking donations of gently used or nearly new items with an estimated market value of $30 or more. Possibilities include used furniture, home décor, artwork, toys, sporting goods, or collections of items that can be sold as a set, like CDs, DVDs, books, games, dishes, etc.
Volunteers are needed to assist with taking digital pictures, preparing descriptions & posting items on-line, responding to email inquiries from potential buyers, and helping package smaller items for shipping. If you can assist with this fundraiser, contact Ellen Carter. If you have an item to donate or would just like to find out more about this fundraiser, click on the following link: .
The BBQ Dinner/Silent Auction is an annual event at which the Jazz Band performs. This year’s dinner and auction will be held on Thursday, February 7th, 2008 at The Salt Lick. This event is a major fundraiser for the Boosters with advance sales exceeding 850 tickets in recent years. A silent auction is conducted in conjunction with the BBQ dinner, for which the Boosters collect in-kind donations from area businesses. Donations include restaurant gift cards, certificates for business products or services, themed gift baskets, decorative items, collectibles, event passes, and many other items. Assistance is needed in a number of areas including decorating, setup and clean-up, ticket distribution, auction check-out, and acquisition of donations for the auction. If you can help in any of these areas please contact Ellen Carter
The Tiger 5K is an annual fundraiser that will be held on Saturday, April 19th, in conjunction with the Dripping Springs Founders Day Festival. The event is a significant fundraiser for the Boosters, as well as a community event enjoyed by many residents of Dripping Springs and the surrounding area. More than 200 people participated in the 2007 Tiger 5K! The majority of the proceeds from the 5K come from local business sponsorships of the event. You don’t have to be a runner/walker in order to help out with the 5K. Volunteers are needed to work on registration, packet-stuffing, timekeeping, food and water preparation, parking coordination, and acquisition of prizes. If you are able to assist with any of these activities, please contact the race director, Michael Powell or Ellen Carter .
